FAQ - Volunteer Projects

Can I travel with and volunteer with a partner?
Yes, couples and friends are welcome. We can arrange for you to travel and volunteer together.

How far should I book in advance?
Some placements fill up 6-8 months in advance so the earlier you book, the better. We recommend that you make your booking at least 3 months before your start date so that we can get the best project for you and you will have time to prepare for your trip.

Will I be able to travel before my project?
You can arrive in the country before your project starts and travel. We can assist with housing and airport pickup if you arrive before your project start date, but this is not included in the project fees.

Will I be able to travel during my project?
You will have time off during your placement and you are free to travel as you please. This varies depending on the volunteer project.

Will I be able to travel after my project?
Yes, after you complete your volunteer project, you are free to explore independently or move to a different project/location.

What if I get sick during my placement?
The managers for each volunteer project have been working with volunteers for years and are trained on how to handle medical emergencies. They will ensure that you are well cared for.
